Encomara provide a unique quick connect system for FOWT mooring and cables supported by strategic consultancy for offshore systems and moorings.

(Strategic Wind Infrastructure)
Inspired by the fixed offshore wind sector’s ability to scale-up successfully, Encomara’s approach mirrors this by enabling high operability installation, high-volume manufacturing of standardised hardware, and pre-installation of all marine and subsea interfaces.
Following a significant research and development investment, the firm’s pioneering SWIFT (Strategic Wind Infrastructure) ethos uses the company’s patented SQUID to provide a comparable level of installation efficiency and cost savings for the floating wind sector.
The technology allows for the pre-installation and pre-commissioning of all moorings and power cables, enabling rapid connection and earlier first power from multiple turbines.

SQUID integrates all associated marine hardware components, such as power cables and connectors, mooring lines and anchor interfaces to provide a rapid and simplified ‘Plug to Power’(P2P) capability drastically reducing the direct CAPEX and duration of FOWT installation. By solving the ‘Tow to Port’ (T2P) challenge, SQUID delivers similar cost and duration reductions during the operational, re-power and decommissioning phases.
strategic consultancy
Our Team and contact network has extensive experience in offshore equipment, asset development, project execution and market knowledge. This spans exploration, marine, fixed and floating wind and places us in a strong position to support and work with developers to common goals.
about
Formed in 2022, Encomara brings together industry leading experts who have used their extensive experience in marine, vessel, renewables, and subsea sectors to examine, understand and solve the project execution challenges associated with the commercial scale deployment installation of floating wind structures.
The team consists of:
Raymond Semple
Chief Executive Officer
Raymond is a project and operations executive, accomplished in the development and deployment of talent, technology, products and assets to deliver large scale fixed, floating and subsea developments offshore. After an early career in offshore operations and project management, he led regional Offshore and Subsea Business Units for Technip in Brazil and North America and then global Subsea Business Units for DOF Subsea and Baker Hughes.
Raymond holds a Bachelor’s Honours Degree in Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.
Ian Cobban
